We made it a hat trick of Dublin Derby wins last Friday by beating Bohemians 2-1. Was it a deserved win overall?

“I think so, especially with our first half performance. When you watch it back, we also had some chances in the second half which we may have done better with. But overall I think we deserved the win.”

We were straight out of the blocks with Graham Burke scoring after five minutes. After being possibly bundled over seconds before, Graham was up on his feet immediately to retake possession and finish expertly, other players might’ve stayed down in frustration.

“I think Graham was expecting the foul, but when he saw where the ball was, he just got up and slots it home. So he showed great composure to do that as he could’ve got caught up in that moment of wanting a free kick or arguing with the ref. But Graham did what Graham does on the edge of the box, puts the ball in the net.”

Despite Bohs coming more into the game in the second half, did we show a real hunger and discipline to see out the win?

“I’ve said it a few times throughout the years, the season throws up different challenges at different moments and you have to be ready to stand up to those challenges. The players did that for periods of the second half, which is just as pleasing as scoring a goal or playing well. When you see that, it’s a really pleasing aspect of what we do.”

We now take the long trip to Derry tomorrow, playing at the Celtic Park GAA stadium while the Ryan McBride pitch is re-laid. Have you been able to find out about quality of the Celtic Park surface?

“Ronan Finn travelled up to see it, he sent us some videos back and it looks poor and reports from people from up there were saying the same. So we’ll wait and see, but the players saw the videos and are well aware of what we’re facing.”

Derry had an impressive win last week away to Shelbourne so after a sticky period, they come into tomorrow’s game in a good place so it will be a tough game as they all are in this league.

“It will be a tough game. Derry had that good win last week and have good players, a good manager. They’re coming off that good win against Shels, but Derry away is always a tough game as is any game. But we can’t be going into it in better form and we’re really looking forward to it.”

What is our situation with injuries this weekend?

Dan Cleary and Dylan Watts trained all week so they’re back and Lee Grace is back. We’ll check on Matt Healy today, other than that, it remains Danny Mandroiu and Rory Gaffney out injured.”
