Shamrock Rovers Academy hosted an open education night for coaches this week. James Scott (Ireland WU17 Head Coach) presented to the coaches how to manage a coaching team and best utilise coaching staff in a session. This was an opportunity for all who attended to get insight into how the women’s U17 head coach operates and plans his sessions with his support staff of Stephanie Zambra, Rob Sweeney, Dave Rooney and Barry Scullion.

Academy Director Simon Friel commented “As an Academy we want to continue to grow the continuous professional development opportunities for our academy staff and also coaches in the surrounding areas. I would like to thank Tommy Carberry our Head of Girls Academy for organising this event for everyone. It’s been great to see his vision for this come to pass this evening with just over 100 coaches present. Also, a big thank you to Eoghan O’Meara for setting up the communication and links with our partner and affiliate clubs.

To be able to open this up to our partner and affiliate clubs is a great opportunity for us to collectively develop, learn and have a positive impact on the players that we coach. I would also like to thank James Scott and his staff for taking the time out of their busy schedule, to put on this CPD night for us all. We wish them all the best with their future work with the Ireland Women’s U17’s.”
