Kick-off in Turners Cross is at 7.45pm. The match will be streamed live on LOITV.

Last Friday’s 2-2 draw with Shelbourne was another frustrating game for us. Having seen it back and reviewed it, is that still your feeling?

“Yes, it is. What I felt after the game is what we feel, having reviewed the game and gone through all the numbers. It’s definitely a game we should win and again, what we said after the game, we feel large parts of what we did were really good. We just need to be more ruthless in both boxes.”

Being ahead at half time with Matt Healy’s goal was certainly deserved. Did the lengthy stoppage just before Shels’ equaliser possibly break our concentration as we had been relatively untroubled up to that?

“It played a part, but it still can’t be an excuse. We’re an experienced team, we’re used to all types of situations, so you must be ready for someone getting injured or the referee stopping the play for some period of time. We’re usually good with that, but in the last week, we haven’t been. We need to get back to what we’re good at. But, as I said, it’s not an excuse and we have to be ready.”

Matt’s goal was his first for Rovers. His form since his arrival has been impressive. Are there more goals in Matt’s locker?

“Most definitely. I think we all agree, Matt’s getting better and better every week. The goal he scored against Shels is a very good goal, but I think there’s eight to ten goals in Matt a season in how he strikes the ball and I’ve no doubt he’ll get there. It was good to see Matt getting off the mark.”

We come into another phase of three games in eight days, so there will be big demands on all players, but they’re all ready to play their part.

“All the players are in a good place. As I say time and time again, we have a good squad and when everyone’s called upon, you need to be ready to play. The players have done that in the main and we’ll need that again this week with the three games so we’re looking forward to it.”

Cork away should be a different proposition to our recent 4-1 win over them in Tallaght and they came from behind recently to beat Waterford. They’ll be primed for a big performance in front of their own supporters.

“It will be a different game; there’s no doubt about that. The 4-1 win is done, it’s forgotten about and irrelevant now. Cork have brought in one or two players since then and are coming off the back of a big win over Waterford. They’re at home, so we know it will be a different game and a difficult game.”

We lost Dylan Watts and Dan Cleary during the Shels game. How are they and anyone else missing the Cork game?

“Both Dylan and Dan will miss tomorrow’s game. Aaron McEneff, Danny Mandroiu and Gary O’Neill also still miss out, but all aren’t far away, we could push them for next week. But if next week comes and the advice is let’s give them a few more days, we’ll do that. But none of them are bad and hopefully they’ll be back soon enough.”
