Stephen Bradley quotes:
We went down 2-0 away to Galway last Friday night. Coming four days after a big Derby win over Bohemians, was there a big contrast in our performances?
“It was obviously a busy week. But I think we know Galway, we didn’t respect what Galway are good at in the early part of the game and that cost us. You have to respect Galway, we didn’t and you can’t do that against any team, but especially Galway.”
Both Galway goals came from long throws. Was that early two goal deficit too big a mountain to climb given Galway’s style and set-up?
“Yes because then you give them the freedom to go on a really low block and protect it, which they’re entitled to do. They did it well and we gave ourselves too much to do.”
The destination of the title is still in our hands with two games to go. Is that all you can ask for at this stage of another hugely demanding season?
“Most definitely. It’s in our hands and we know if we win two games, we win the league and it’s that simple. That starts tomorrow night against Sligo and that’s the aim.”
Sligo Rovers are our opposition in our last home game of the season, tickets are selling very well. Sligo are the only domestic team to win in Tallaght this season, that must be a big reminder to all that we can’t just expect to turn up and win tomorrow.
“I think that’s it. It’s quite clear, Sligo beat us at home last time, they’ll come tomorrow night and know they will have a go and if we’re not at it, as we weren’t last Friday, we’ll get beaten. That’s this league. It’s unforgiving, so we need to be ready to go tomorrow.”
Any injuries after Galway? Matt Healy, Naj Razi, Michael Noonan and Danny Grant miss out due to suspension.
“Jack Byrne picked up a knock before the Galway game, so we need to check on Jack this morning. We’re ok other than Jack and the suspensions.”
