We are delighted to announce that Shannon Coady and Alannah Prizeman have graduated from our Academy ranks to sign for our first team squad in 2024.

Shannon (19) is fresh off the back of a prolific season with our U19s, bagging 33 goals across league and cup campaigns, a feat that saw the striker finish the season as top goal scorer in the U19s league and pick up the Award for the Club’s Players’ Player of the Year.

Alannah (18), who joined the club in 2020 and was part of our first U17s Academy squad, has progressed through our Academy system and is further evidence of our strategic development plan in action for the club’s women’s section, reaffirming our commitment to providing a pathway for young girls through from U17s to U19s to senior first team football.

Shannon made her first team debut against Wexford at Tallaght Stadium in March 2023 and scored her first senior goals in the All-Island Cup against Glentoran in July 2023, while Alannah made her first senior appearance against Treaty United at Tallaght Stadium in March 2023. Both players will now join Collie O’Neill’s first-team squad as preparations continue ahead of the new season getting underway in March.

Shannon Coady: ”Signing for the senior team is really exciting for me. I can’t wait for this season to start. We have a great squad and we are excited to see where the season takes us.”

Alannah Prizeman: ”I’m delighted to sign with Rovers for the 2024 season. This will be my fifth season with the club and I can’t wait to be part of this group. Hopefully, we have a positive season and build on last year’s performances.’

”Both Shannon and Alannah dropped into the first team training sessions during the early stages of last season and both immediately settled into the group. We put a strong emphasis on our Academy setup and it is always great to see these young players develop and adapt to senior football. Shannon and Alannah have excelled within our Academy in recent years and have now been rewarded with a place in our first-team squad. Both players have a bright future ahead of them.”

Head Coach Collie O’Neill:

”It’s really important that we see graduates from our Academy teams play for the first team. Alannah and Shannon have worked extremely hard and are fully deserving of this opportunity. We are very excited to see both players make this step up. We also have many more fantastic young players getting ready to make their mark with the first team in the months ahead.”
