Year two of the Breakthrough Programme with the Beacon of Light is now underway at Roadstone.

We are delighted to continue with this great initiative where we provide coaching and the use of our Academy facility to the group of 9 participants in 2021 along with 2 mentors.

The Breakthrough Programme was devised in response to Anger Management, Depression, Suicide, Addiction and Anti-social behaviour of 18–30-year-old males in West Dublin. It was devised using our data from Salesforce and from The National Office of Suicide Prevention.

We are now in week three of a ten-week cycle that includes counselling and coaching. Participants are encouraged to address their own physical and psychological development.  The programme uses psychotherapy, psycho-education, physical education and nutritional advice to address mild to moderate mental health issues such as Anxiety, Anger Management, Addiction and Depression.

We have some great activities coming up:

  • We have a match with Rovers staff scheduled for week 5 in Roadstone
  • The men will begin the PDP FAI coaching qualification training on week 6 with Robbie DeCourcy from FAI coaching
  • We have scheduled a rematch with the Oireachtas football team for the end of the programme
  • Finally, we will have an event to present the players with their coaching certs at the end of the programme
