Stephen Bradley gives us his thoughts on our last match and Friday’s home game v Finn Harps:
Saturday’s 0-0 draw in Sligo:
“It was a good game. We created a lot of chances and they had some too from distance that Alan had to save. So it was a decent game with chances at either end.
We were missing Lee and Greg through suspension and we were missing a few with illness as well. It was unfortunate that 5 or 6 of the squad have been struggling with sickness the last week and Graham Burke only recovered that morning to travel. So we had to make a few changes.
We had good chances, we hit the post twice in the first half. In the second half the defender handled it on the line, we had Ronan’s one on one and Aaron Greene was unlucky to hit the crossbar. Unfortunately we didn’t take any of them.”
Tomorrow’s game at home to Finn Harps:
“I’m sure they’ll come with a strong game plan like they always do. Ollie has done a fantastic job again. They’re going to try and take points off us to try and catch Cork so we’ve got to be ready for that and make sure we’re at our best.
The players have been performing well and I don’t see that changing in our next three games. Hopefully we get a good crowd in Tallaght for our last two home games and hopefully win both.”
“We have good competition within the group and we have an FAI Cup final in a few weeks’ time so that’s on everybody’s mind. They want to get in that starting XI for that day so that brings healthy competition in the squad.
Jack Byrne and Roberto Lopes are both away (international duty). Sean Callan is the only injury but we have a couple of suspensions, Joey O’Brien and Gary O’Neill, and we need to have a look at the illnesses and see where we are with them.”
