There was a great turn out for the Quiz on Wednesday night in the 1899 Suite and a great night was had by all.

Each of the 25 teams had a player or members of the backroom team at their table and teams were named after their player.

Well done to Sean Kavanagh’s team on winning last night’s Shamrock Rovers George Byrne Memorial Quiz. Ably supported by Paul Clayton Sr., Paul Clayton Jr and Karl Reilly, Sean’s team scored an impressive 50 points (out of 60).

Stephen Bradley’s team, with Junior Hoops volunteers Paul Weafer, Bill Gleeson, Glenn Dunne as well as Hoops hero John Coady, needed a tie-break to pip Joey O’Brien’s team (Ross Williams, Ian Williams, Shane McCormack and John Butler) to second place on 48 points.

Thanks to everybody who participated and to the first team squad and management for giving up their night off. Big thanks also to our sponsors Beeftro Dundrum, Cookbook Café, EA Sports, Maldron Hotel, Paul McLoone, Molloy’s, New Balance, Station House Restaurant and WOW Burger for their generous support.

Compered by Buzz O’Neill, it was a great night in the 1899 Suite, our thanks to the people who helped make it happen on the night including Martin Moore and Justin Mason for the questions, volunteers Martina Blehein, Katherine Lynch and Conor O’Sullivan at the bar/raffle, organisers Mark Lynch, Peter Madden, Siobhan Keane and Ronan McCarthy.

See you all next year!
