Ian Bermingham is the only injury worry for Shamrock Rovers’ boss Michael O’Neill ahead of tomorrow’s final game of the season, away to Saint Patrick’s Athletic.

“He’s got an ankle injury,” O’Neill explains. “We’ll see how he is closer to the kick-off. Aside from Ian, everyone else is available – but that doesn’t mean they’ll play. “For example, we’ve four players who are a yellow card away from receiving suspensions, so I’ll give them a rest. I’m also going to rest some key players.”

“We’re going there to win the game and finish the season on a high. We’ve a very good record in Dublin derbies to maintain as well. We’ve won five drawn one and lost one. “We’ve played Saint Pat’s four time so far – three time in the league and once in the EA Sports Cup – and won them all, so obviously we’d like to keep that run going.”

The 2009 season

“There has been a lot of positives, and if we win against Saint Pat’s we’ll finish on 75 points, which is probably a record for a team finishing in the runners-up spot. “You have to take your hat off to Bohemians for amassing even more points than us. In nearly any other season we would have been crowned champions. “Our away form has been fantastic – just one defeat - and shows the resilience of our players. We’re looking forward to Europe and know where we have to improve for next year.”
