A goal either side of half time gave Malmo the win in this friendly match between the two Europa League group sides. No.10 Jiloan Hamad put Malmo in front on 42 mins with a volley from inside the Hoops box giving Ryan Thompson no chance. Rovers started the second half very brightly but were caught on the counter attack when Malmo midfielder Daniel Larsson raided down Rovers right hand side and crossed for no.29 Alex Nilsson to grab the second goal of the game for Malmo on 60 mins. Both sides made numerous changes with all players in the squad playing some part of this friendly match. Rovers had some chances with Kilduff, Finn, Dennehy and O'Neill all going close but Malmo were value for their win. It is expected that a return game will take place in 2012 in Tallaght when Malmo hope to visit as part of their pre season or possibly at the June break.
