Shamrock Rovers in the Community – Our Vision for the Future

Shamrock Rovers is in the process of developing a fully fledged Football in the Community programme to safeguard football development at all levels in South Dublin. The programme will be supported by a range of structures covering not only the development of football skills but also ensuring appropriate attention to the educational attainment and social development of student footballers in the South Dublin area.

Shamrock Rovers intends to become synonymous with Football in the Community in the Tallaght area and will offer a comprehensive range of scholarships and coaching options to children and youths in the area.

Through a partnership with educational software company, Skills for Success, Rovers have developed football themed software across a wide range of subject material, including numeracy, literacy and science. Using the base of Tallaght Stadium, the club intends to roll out the use of this software to more schools in the Tallaght area. One of these systems is currently being used at St Aidan's Community School, Tallaght.
